On 15 February 1585, following a wedding, the family of Count d'Attimis-Maniago inherited the winery situated in Buttrio, in the Province of Udine. Since that remote age, the noble family of d?Attimis-Maniago has been making wine on the same lands and with the same passion, as is documented in the ancient documents found in the archives. Of particular interest is the centre of the winery, which was inhabited as far back as 1300. Its present appearance dates back to 1700 when the "fort house" was transformed into an agricultural centre, with the removal of the old tower and the introduction of the "folladors", still present today, and of the granary. The restored 15th century family home, situated in Maniago (PN) and nowadays a restaurant and hotel, is worth visiting.
