| THE WINERY |
Our Estate
is located in Buttrio, 12 kilometres south of
Udine, in the district of the Colli Orientali
del Friuli, a land of gently rolling hills known
for its superior wines. The Estate unfolds across
110 hectares, nearly all covered with vineyards,
and has belonged to our family for more than
500 years.
The ancient records filed in our family archives
contain many interesting references such as
how in 1140, ten Buttrio farming contracts were
donated to a Benedictine monastery so that the
monks could make wine and oil. Until just a
few years, the Estate still held another ten
contracts.
Our family Palazzo is particularly noteworthy.
It has just been renovated and is currently
a hotel and restaurant: Palazzo
d’Attimis Maniago.
We are especially proud of using only grapes
produced from our vines, 70% of which are vines
grown in our vineyards from selected cloning
on our Estate.
These vines are therefore perfectly suited to
the environment and produce truly typical wines.
A “great” wine can, of course, only
come from a “great” vineyard. |
